Monday 28 October 2013 09:57 CET | News

French contactless and NFC technology developer INSIDE Secure has rolled out its EasyPlug cryptographic middleware software which enables developers to add security to mobile devices, USB tokens, PC-Link products and embedded systems.

Certified by Microsoft and linked to the INSIDE family of VaultIC and VaultSEcure security solutions, EasyPlug is a plug-and-play cryptographic solution that combines Common Criteria EAL 5+ hardware, FIPS 140-2 certified firmware and a Microsoft-certified smartcard minidriver.

EasyPlug middleware automatically identifies and provides the appropriate cryptographic functionality for the platform and application through standard APIs. In addition to the VaultIC API for use in embedded systems, the EasyPlug middleware also provides a smartcard minidriver that is Content Security Policy (CSP)- compliant with Microsoft applications as well as a PKCS #11 API, for non- Microsoft applications.

According to Bernard Vian, executive VP for Secure Transactions at INSIDE Secure, the increasing prominence of attacks is motivating use of secure hardware for use in applications beyond traditional ones like payments.
