Instagram adds two-factor authentication to its platform

Wednesday 17 February 2016 10:53 CET | News

Instagram has started to roll out two-factor authentication.

The tool allows Instagram users to verify a phone number. Then, if anyone tries to log into one’s account with their e-mail and password, the user will be texted an authentication code that must also be entered to gain access to your account.

That means hackers need more than the user’s e-mail and password that could be guessed, stolen, or tricked out of them with a phishing scam.
