Wednesday 30 May 2012 11:27 CET | News

UK-based online identity verification service miiCard has introduced Twitter validation for all users of this social network.

Thus, anyone using Twitter can now validate a profile by connecting it to their miiCard, proving their online identity. The company has made this step in response to increased reports of identity fraud and impersonation on social networks. In March 2012, the number of Twitter registrations has reached 500 million, up from 200 million in March 2011 recent identity fraud reported at 7.3% on average across Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook.

miiCard is a federated identity verification service which centralizes the management and control of their online identity. miiCard is backed by Yodlee’s personalized finance platform.
