miiCard releases DirectID Check for SMBs

Friday 14 December 2012 08:07 CET | News

UK-based online identity verification service miiCard has released the DirectID Check, a hosted identity service for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) that require identity proofing of clients.

As a result, businesses that want to offer a suite of professional services online can verify their customers identities to the level of an offline photo ID check. As a cloud based service, miiCard DirectID Check does not require API integration for a business to directly verify the identity of their customers to Level of Assurance 3 (LOA3) online.

miiCard DirectID Check can be deployed by Independent Financial Advisors (IFAs), law firms, real estate agents, family physicians, job recruiters and other small businesses that do not have their own website or with limited technology resources.

To use DirectID Check a business needs to sign-in to a custom identity management portal to request that a customer verify their identity using miiCard. For customers, miiCard works as a Bring Your Own Identity (BYOID) service, allowing them to prove their identity to the level of an offline photo identity check online. There is no technology integration required.

miiCards online identity verification service allows consumers to track, monitor and take control of their identity online. Using the authority and security inherent in a users online financial accounts to validate identity, miiCard can now verify almost 300 million users across nine countries and five continents.
