miiCard unveils its IDaaS platform via open API

UK-based online identity verification service miiCard has unveiled its global trusted Identity as a Service (IDaaS) platform via an open Application Programming Interface (API) and developer kit for companies that need to verify the identity of their customers or users online.

miiCards IDaaS can prove a users identity to the level of a photo ID completely online, enabling businesses to offer a range of products and services. miiCard has launched its Level of Assurance 3 (LOA3) identity verification service out of beta to consumers in early 2012 and the unveiling of its IDaaS platform marks the official launch of its partner program.

miiCards online identity verification service allows consumers to track, monitor and take control of their identity online. Using the authority and security inherent in a users online financial accounts to validate identity, miiCard can now verify almost 300 million users across nine countries and five continents.

In recent news, miiCard has joined the Open Identity Exchange (OIX), a US-based non-profit organization aimed at building trust in the exchange of online identity credentials across public and private sectors.
