The Merchant Risk Council (MRC), the merchant-led trade association focused on online payments, fraud and e-commerce, has revealed plans to host a series of regional events uniting local merchants to combat online fraud.

The online space is evolving at a rapid pace with new technology, new risks and new opportunities, said Steven Mandurano, MRC spokesperson. “Uniting merchants to develop robust strategies to fight fraud and grow payments will ensure that online commerce remains safe, secure and profitable.”

The initial schedule of events includes the following:
New York, NY, sponsored by Chase Paymentech
May 21, 2013
Atlanta, GA, sponsored by First Data
May 22, 2013
Minneapolis, MN, sponsored by Best Buy
June 4, 2013
San Francisco, CA, sponsored by StubHub
June 13, 2013
Silicon Valley, CA, sponsored by Intuit
June 14, 2013

All events will include a panel discussion followed by breakout sessions, allowing merchants to interact on a more intimate level discussing key trends and themes that they are experiencing in their business.
“It is events like these that ensure that our members experience 45% less revenue loss due to fraud than non-members,” said Mandurano.

Both merchant and non-merchant members are invited to attend. To learn more or to register for one of these events, this premiere event, please visit www.merchantriskcouncil.org.
