Monday 25 February 2013 09:44 CET | News

Ntrepid, a technology solutions provider, has received a patent from the US Patent Office covering its system for protecting identity in a network environment.

Ntrepid system masks identifying characteristics of users and machines when communicating over various kinds of networks. Among the many characteristics that the Ntrepid system masks, a few examples include the originator’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, operating system, time zone, email address, user name and browser version.

The system can also disperse large-scale data collection queries across thousands of non-attributed IP addresses to circumvent blocking. The patent covers computer-to-computer, as well as telephone, facsimile, voice over IP (VOIP), paging and any other system where the nature of communication imparts identifying information about the originator of a message. It applies broadly to wired and wireless, intranet and internet, local and wide area networks and any combination thereof.
