Belgium-based online payment processing services provider Ogone Payment Services has entered a partnership with fraud management services developer Ethoca to upgrade its anti-fraud screening services.

As part of the agreement, Ogone’s 28,000 customers will benefit from automatic fraud checks against the histories of hundreds of merchants in the Ethoca network. Once the service is activated, customers’ transactions will be automatically checked for chargeback histories, velocity, inconsistencies and other negative patterns.

The fraud-risk information provided by Ethoca via Ogone is available only to those who choose to enter the Ethoca network. Members of the Ethoca network are connected to a pool of member-provided transaction data managed to protect the privacy of both customers and members.

Ogone Payment Services offers electronic payment services for e-commerce, ticketing, call centres and hotel industry as well as B2C and B2B segments.

In a recent development, Ethoca has launched a new PCI certified service, dubbed FraudStop, to enable online merchants to prevent fraud losses.
