UK-based online payment services provider Optimal Payments has teamed up with Daon, a developer of identity authentication technology, to develop a solution which will combine Daons biometric authentication system and Optimals NETBANX and NETELLER payment services.

The Daon IdentityX biometric 2-factor authentication service, which was recently reviewed by the US Senate Consumer Protection Subcommittee, allows the in-stream online re-verification of individuals as part of payment transaction flows. Delivered from the cloud, Optimals payment services process over USD 11 billion a year and include merchant accounts, a payment gateway, multi-channel acceptance, configurable fraud rules and customer accounts and mobile wallets.

Daon is a provider of identity assurance software products focused on meeting the needs of governments and commercial organizations worldwide. Daon products have been selected to secure identities around the globe including programs in the US, Japan, India, Australia, New Zealand, the European Union and Mexico.

Optimal Payments provides credit-debit card and e-check (Direct Debit) services to retail/point of sale, internet, and mail-order/telephone-order (MOTO) to merchants in Canada, the US, Europe and the Caribbean.

In recent news, Optimal Payments has entered a strategic alliance to provide the NETELLER eWallet to Payline, the payment platform developed and operated in France by Monext.
