US-based electronic payment processing services provider RBS WorldPay, a subsidiary of the Royal Bank of Scotland Group, has inked a multi-year agreement with Semtek, a US-based payment card security technology developer, for data-sensitive encryption services.

Under the terms of the contract, Semtek will install its Cipher Decryption Service (CDS) on RBS WorldPays US merchant host systems to capture transactions that have been encrypted in multiple formats.

Semteks Cipher Security products include point-of-sale (POS) device encryption applications, software security and network services and create a security loop throughout the transaction’s cycle on a common platform. When coupled with the Semtek card authentication and monitoring systems the products are set to ensure payment card protection from data theft and card counterfeiting.

RBS WorldPay is a provider of electronic payments processing services, including credit, debit, EBT, checks, gift cards, e-commerce, customer loyalty cards, fleet cards, ATM processing as well as cash management services.
