Thursday 21 February 2013 08:01 CET | News

UK payment security technology company Semafone has partnered Servebase, a payment services and technology provider.

As part of the deal, Servebases customers will be able to access Semafones secure voice payment technology through Servebases hosted payment page and gateway service, ANYpay. The Semafone technology holds a patent for its method of securing card payments made by telephone.

Semafone allows customers to use their telephone keypad to transmit card data directly to their bank so no sensitive details are held in the contact centres infrastructure. The contact centre agent can neither hear nor see sensitive information, even though they will remain on the call.

Founded in 2009, Semafone offers a solution which takes telephone payments out of the scope of PCI DSS regulations. The company’s mission is to secure voice transactions and reduce credit card fraud in contact centres worldwide in order to support the global scale of the PCI mandate. The company already has a customer base than includes Europe, North America and Africa.
