Tuesday 18 September 2012 00:53 CET | News

Financial institution Sony Bank has selected Swiss-based authentication and e-signature services provider Vasco Data Security for its DIGIPASS and VACMAN authentication technology, to upgrade the security level of its internet banking service.

Under the terms of the agreement, the bank’s customers will be able to use DIGIPASS GO 7, a device that generates one-time passwords. These passwords only last for a limited time period and become invalid afterwards. In the back-end, VASCOs VACMAN authentication platform is able to process the large volumes of end-users.

VASCO serves a customer base of approximately 10,000 companies in more than 100 countries, including almost 1,700 international financial institutions. VASCO targets markets which include the financial sector, enterprise security, e-commerce and e-government.
