Social commerce services provider Adgregate Markets has entered a partnership with the US security software designer Symantec.

Under the terms of the deal, those merchants who use the Adgregates ShopFans to build stores on Facebook will be able to benefit from Symantecs VeriSign Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Certificates and VeriSign Trust Seal to convert conversations into commerce. Via Symantec’s protection services, stores created with ShopFans will enable commercial transactions directly in Facebook without compromising security and privacy. Moreover, merchants can display Symantecs VeriSign Trusted seal on the internet. Symantec provides daily scanning services for the VeriSign Trusted sites and determines the level of trust necessary to drive traffic to online stores, convert shoppers into buyers and build customer relationships.

Adgregate Markets ShopFans leverage the social commerce storefronts for retailers with total online annual sales of over USD 8.5 billion and to their collective 20 million plus network of fans on Facebook.

ShopFans is a Facebook Platform application allowing brands to connect. Symantecs VeriSign seal is deployed by more than 100,000 websites.
