TeleSign adds telecom carrier information to its suite of PhoneID

Friday 5 April 2013 08:22 CET | News

TeleSign, a provider of internet fraud prevention and intelligent authentication, has added telecom carrier information to its suite of PhoneID products.

TeleSigns patented suite of identity and fraud prevention products is based on the principle that a phone is tied to a persons identity and behaviour. Carrier information serves as a fraud signal for many online merchants and web properties and enables a more granular approach to evaluating the propensity for fraud based on phone number intelligence.

Telecom carrier information is currently used to block a telecom carrier associated with high fraud rates, create exceptions for a carrier with low fraud rates and build carrier data into an automated machine learning system.

TeleSign has executed more than 1 billion authentication and verification transactions in more than 200 countries and over 50 languages. In recent news, TeleSign has entered into an agreement with US fraud-fighting technology developer Kount.
