TeleSign introduces PhoneID Contact

Tuesday 17 July 2012 14:53 CET | News

TeleSign, a provider of internet fraud prevention and intelligent authentication, has introduced the PhoneID Contact, which enables online merchants and consumer web services to determine the risk level of a transaction.

The newly launched product is part of the PhoneID suite, which helps online businesses block fraud by delivering name and address details based on a phone number. PhoneID Contact returns name and address, phone type (prepaid mobile, VoIP, landline), registration location information and an auto-corrected phone number. Access to this data enables merchants to make decisions, blocking fraud before it results in lost revenue.

PhoneID Contact combined with TeleSign Verify, which sends a one-time code to the users phone, automates the fraud screening process and ensures that the customer is in fact linked to the phone number used during the transaction.

TeleSign has executed more than 1 billion authentication and verification transactions in more than 200 countries and over 50 languages.
