Ubokia.com rolls out uTrust verification

Tuesday 26 June 2012 08:55 CET | News

US-based e-commerce startup Ubokia has rolled out uTrust verification.

The newly introduced feature is a trust verification system for e-commerce aimed at eliminating the risk when buying online. In addition, uTrust disables potential scammers from hiding behind anonymity.

Users who opt-in to be uTrust verified have to start by providing some information about themselves. Ubokia uses the information from public records to generate several questions to which only the real person would know the answers. Once Ubokia has verified a users identity, he or she is considered uTrusted and receives an uTrust badge on his or her profile. Ubokia has revealed plans to continue to develop additional measures to protect consumers and ensure online safety.

In addition to uTrust, uGroups is another security feature which allows users to create virtual marketplaces. With uGroups, members can buy, sell and trade with others in their existing social communities or with those that share a common passion. For users who prefer to keep their identities secret, the website will function as normal. Users are able to build out profiles with eBay ratings or by connecting with Facebook and PayPal.

Ubokia is an online marketplace focusing on providing members with exactly what they want. Thus, members are able to post what they want to buy on Ubokia and sellers to respond with offers.
