Thursday 14 June 2012 09:34 CET | News

French hospital procurement group Uni-HA has selected healthcare services provider XIRING, part of global payment services provider Ingenico for e-Health and e-ID services.

XIRING will become the reference supplier for smart card readers used to secure access to information systems. French hospitals will have to install authentication solutions and electronic signatures, which can be based on the CPS V3 card (for the French healthcare professional smart card).

The authentication and hospital workstation access solutions (CPS3, IAS card) which have been selected include:
• Witeo: the hands-free card reader in badge holder format;
• Diteo: the contact and contactless dual-interface USB card reader;
• Liteo: the individual USB reader for contact cards.

The Uni-HA is a grouped procurement cooperative network representing 32 of the university hospitals (CHU) and 24 of the hospitals across France, which account for a total of more than EUR 7 billion in annual procurement activities. In Healthcare, Ingenico Healthcare/e-ID strategy is founded on the company’s solutions to secure health-based transactions. Based on readers and terminals dedicated to health cards, these solutions are used by pharmacists, healthcare professionals (doctors, nurses, specialists) and healthcare establishments (hospitals, clinics, healthcare centres).
