Under the terms of the deal, Microsoft will demonstrate Validity fingerprint sensors in products running the Windows 8.1 operating system. Windows 8.1, which will be available later in 2013, supports fingerprint based biometrics and provides user experience for enrollment and authentication. Computers equipped with Windows 8.1 and Validity Natural ID fingerprint sensors, provide an upgraded user experience for device login, computer security and configuration, purchases and online transactions and data protection.
In recent news, Validity Sensors has revealed plans to support FIDO integration in its mobile and notebook software development kits (SDKs) for both Android and Windows operating systems.
