Tuesday 22 June 2010 11:07 CET | News

US-based electronic payment services provider VeriFone has received validation from Coalfire, a Payment Card Industry (PCI) Qualified Security Assessor (QSA), for its VeriShield Protect encryption application.

According to Coalfire’s evaluation, Verifone’s VeriShield Protect meets all Visa Data Field Encryption guidelines as well as other industry standards. Moreover, VeriShield Protect is able to remove from the PCI scope a payments application or point-of-sale (POS) system that does not comply with Payment Application Best Practices (PABP) or Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS) if all payment data is captured through the VeriShield Protect service and the system is cleansed of all legacy card data.

The assessment included technical testing, architectural assessment, industry analysis, compliance validation as well as peer review.
