Verizon Wireless launches Managed Certificate Services

Thursday 21 November 2013 11:55 CET | News

Verizon Wireless, a US mobile telecommunications network and wireless phone provider, has launched Managed Certificate Services, a cloud-based platform.

Managed Certificate Services (MCS) platform is designed to authenticate objects and machines - verifying object and machine ‘identities’ - and securing data transmitted between these connections. It is available in the US and Europe and in the next future for the Asia-Pacific region. The solution offers integration with existing client networks and applications through a range of application programming interfaces and provides administrators access to a web-based portal.

Verizons MCS portfolio is applicable for authenticating and verifying applications, services and enterprise infrastructures such as online shopping cart applications and e-government service delivery such as license plate renewals and passport services requiring sophisticated identity-proofing capabilities. Verizons MCS platform also can help enterprises to address new regulatory guidelines aimed at protecting device-to-machine and machine-to-machine connections now found in automobiles, smart meters and home-monitoring systems.

In recent news, Isis, the US mobile commerce joint venture created by AT&T, T-Mobile USA and Verizon Wireless, has made the updated version of the Isis Mobile Wallet available to consumers for download in the Google Play app store and at AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless retail stores nationwide.
