Yubico introduces YubiKey hardware

Friday 9 December 2011 00:13 CET | News

US-based two-factor authentication services provider Yubico has joined forces with SAPO, a Portuguese internet services provider, to implement and deploy the YubiKey two-factor authentication hardware, which provides login access to SAPO employees and customers.

SAPO’s employees will be able to gain access to the company’s intranet via the YubiKey hardware. They will be entitled to access internal web applications and data externally using unprotected equipment or networks.

The newly implemented YubiKey, which has been manufactured in Sweden, is a hardware authentication token similar to a USB memory stick. The USB token allows users to login in using a One-Time Password (OTP).

Portugal-based SAPO provides customers with internet services and web portal and has also expanded its presence Cape Verdi, Angola, Mozambique and East Timor.
