Zwipe, Fingerprint launch biometric access card

Thursday 5 December 2013 11:34 CET | News

Zwipe, an authentication solutions company, has launched a biometric access card with fingerprint touch sensors from Fingerprint Cards, a biometric components provider.

The card is ISO 14443 compliant and fingerprint data is stored on the card itself. According to Kim Kristian Humborstad, CEO of Zwipe, the card provides a secure environment, protecting user data while still communicating with access control systems using standard interfaces.

Fingerprint Cards develops, produces and markets biometric components that through the analysis and matching of an individuals unique fingerprint verify the persons identity. The technology consists of biometric sensors, processors, algorithms and modules that can be used separately or in combination with each other.

In recent news, Fingerprint Cards (FPC), a biometric components provider, and security services provider Nok Nok Labs have teamed up to deliver an infrastructure solution for online authentication using fingerprint sensors on smartphones and tablets.
