US collaborative business commerce and e-invoicing services provider Ariba has entered an agreement with Microsoft to allow businesses to connect to the Ariba Network.

Under the agreement, Ariba is set to develop an adapter that will allow Microsoft Dynamics AX customers to connect to the Ariba Network. The companies are set to link their business commerce and ERP applications, providing businesses using Microsoft Dynamics AX with access to the Ariba Network, so that they can connect and collaborate across the entire commerce process.

The Ariba Network provides cloud-based applications, a community of partners through which companies can discover, qualify, connect and collaborate with trading partners as well as other services that are only available to members of the community, such as analytics, financing and ratings.

In recent news, European metals company Boliden has selected Ariba for its cloud-based services. Under the agreement, Boliden is set to use Ariba Sourcing to negotiate agreements for direct and indirect materials, Ariba Contract Management and Ariba Supplier Information Management to manage trading relationships.
