US-based financial services provider Bank of the West has entered a partnership with MasterCard Worldwide to deploy MasterCard’s Purchase Control service.

With MasterCard Purchase Control, Bank of the West will provide its corporate clients with enhanced global controls and transaction security that combines an integrated preapproval process with secure virtual account numbers.

Furthermore, the integration of the Purchase Control application into the bank’s existing corporate financial infrastructures aims to enable enhanced transparency through spend controls, administrative tools, as well as enhanced transaction reporting and reconciliation capabilities.

In addition, MasterCard Purchase Control provides a flexible environment that enables organizations to optimize their commercial payments programs in a way that provides employees with tools to control spending and allows both employees and suppliers to achieve regulatory compliance.

Purchase Control will be available to Bank of the West’s corporate purchasing card clients in early 2011. With the selection of Purchase Control, Bank of the West also extends its commercial brand agreement with MasterCard to 2013.
