Finnish e-procurement and e-invoicing software company Basware has launched a cloud-based platform for business-to-business transaction collaboration dubbed Basware Alusta.

The Basware Alusta platform supports applications for mobile phones and tablet devices including Android, Apple IOS phones and iPad platforms, providing users with access to processes and data visibility while on the move.

The new platform also provides customers with an app dubbed CloudScan which enables local invoice scanning before sending invoice data to the cloud for data capture and validation services.

With the Basware Alusta platform buyers and sellers from different departments are set to be able to access the same transaction data from their user interfaces. Also, users have visibility of cash obligations and movement from requisition to payment and they can connect to the open commerce ecosystem and transact, regardless of their own company infrastructure, technical expertise or regulatory context. The platform provides software-as-a-service packages for organisations as well as process-as-a-service packages for businesses.

In recent news, Basware has seen its automation services business (which includes SaaS and e-invoicing) grow by 32.2 percent in 2011 compared to 2010, with net sales also growing by 4.5 percent to EUR 107.7 million during the same interval.
