Bottomline Technologies connects Paymode-X service to SWIFT network

The Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT), the global provider of secure financial messaging services, has approved Bottomline Technologies to send and receive electronic invoices as a service provider over the SWIFT network. Bottomline Technologies is a US provider of collaborative payment, invoice and document automation services.

As a result, the recognition is expected to enable new capabilities for Bottomline’s SWIFT Access Service by permitting the transfer of e-invoicing messages across a global financial messaging network. By connecting Bottomline’s Paymode-X online payment and invoicing system to SWIFT, banks can send and receive e-invoices on behalf of any non-SWIFT members that are part of the Paymode-X network.

Bottomline Technologies offers collaborative payment, invoice and document automation services to corporations, financial institutions and banks. The company’s offerings are used to automate and manage processes involving payments, invoicing, global cash management, supply chain finance and transactional documents.

Bottomline acquired the PayMode service from Bank of America in 2009. At that time, the two organizations entered a multi-year agreement to deliver services for integrated payables automation.

In recent news, Bottomline Technologies has seen its revenues for the Q3 2011 ended 31 March reach USD 48.8 million, an increase of USD 9.0 million or 23 percent from Q3 2010, recent financial results have revealed.
