German grocery retailer EDEKA Group has partnered global provider of business-to-business integration (B2B) and e-invoicing services Crossgate and global provider of business software SAP. With this agreement, EDEKA aims to improve integration of processes and data exchange with business partners.

Under the agreement, SAP and Crossgate have developed an application which is set to establish electronic data interchange (EDI) between EDEKA and its business partners.

The SAP Information Interchange application by Crossgate includes communicating with partners while reacting and delivering to customer demands.

For electronic data exchange, the app uses the Crossgate B2B transaction platform Business-Ready Network. Crossgate is expected to support EDEKAs business partners when necessary in becoming EDI capable, and when gaining entry into the EDEKA Groups business partner network.

Crossgate was acquired by SAP on 1st November 2011.
