The Main Inspectorate of Road Transport in Poland (GITD), which is part of the State Treasury, has selected the Consortium of Poczta Polska, Orange Polska and Itella Information, a consortium led by Polish public post service Poczta Polska, as the service provider for printing, sorting, customizing, digitizing, enveloping, receiving and delivering documents connected to the proceedings in cases of road offences. The value of the contract is approximately EUR 88.3 million.

Under the agreement, Itella Information will deliver its services starting November 2012. Itella Information will be responsible for handling the correspondence and digitizing the documents sent out and received by GITD. Itella will collect and prepare the documents as required by the State Treasury, according to the document type. Some documents are subject to OCR processes and will be returned to the customer in a digitized format. The paper-based documents will be stored in long-term archives. The processes of enveloping and actual delivery of documents will be the responsibility of Itella’s consortium partners.

Itella Information is a Finnish e-invoicing services provider. In recent news, Itella Information has carried out a number of customer implementations that have already been taken into production in Scandinavia within the e-procurement community.
