Alibaba to allegedly buy a stake in Sina Weibo

Chinese e-commerce group Alibaba is allegedly set to acquire a stake in Sina Weibo, a Chinese microblogging service, online media outlet China Business News reports.

According to the source, Alibaba has declared that negotiations between the two companies have entered the final phase. Alibaba has valued Sina Weibo at about USD 3 billion.

In recent news, Alibaba, in collaboration with Chinese internet company Tencent and financial services provider Ping An, has revealed plans to enter a web-financing venture.
