Global payments gateway BlueSnap has released a series of new shopping cart updates for ecommerce platforms Magento and PrestaShop that enable merchants using them to expand into 180 countries with localised shopping experiences.

The integration enables merchants to offer a localised shopping experience with a choice of 29 languages, 60 currencies and 110 payment types.

Merchants can also opt to use BlueSnap’s hosted checkout pages, which come pre-configured with localised pages, A/B testing capabilities and PCI compliance.

Globally, online selling now accounts for 8% of total commerce, particularly in developing markets. In some countries, a single payment method may be used for 40% to 80% of all online transactions.

BlueSnap provides digital merchants with an ecommerce solution that enables monetization across a wide variety of digital goods including audio and video content, software, casual games and subscription access to publications and services. The company serves over 5,000 merchants in 180 countries by localizing the experience for shoppers worldwide, with 28 languages, 60 currencies and 90 payment types.

In recent news, BlueSnap has started offering new localized payment methods in Brazil, Russia, India and China (BRIC).
