Brazils online spending up by 368% on Black Friday 2012

Brazil’s e-commerce sector has witnessed a 368 percent growth in online spending on Black Friday, a recent study reports.

According to a survey released by comScore, a source of digital business analytics, during the same period, the online spending in US has only increased 63 percent.

The same source points out that the surge was driven by an increase in the number of buyers (+185 percent), but also in average spending (+64 percent).

Among the companies studied by comScore, Walmart has seen the highest percentage increase in sales, followed by local heavyweights Ponto Frio, Casas Bahia and Magazine Luiza.
