The application will allow ThankYou Rewards members to pool their reward points online via the social networking platform and use their points’ collective value towards a shared goal, including a charitable donation or a reward from thankyou.com.
The newly launched application is backed by a service Citi introduced in 2011, which enables customers to transfer points to one another on the banks homepage.
In order to use the application, customers need to download the ThankYou Point Sharing App, linked on Citis Facebook page. Once they have downloaded the application, customers can then start a rewards pool by naming a recipient and explaining its purpose. The pool recipient maintains control of any contributions and only individuals are allowed to be pool recipients.
The program is available for both credit card holders and checking account customers.
