Digital River introduces new e-commerce offering

Monday 5 December 2011 00:12 CET | News

Global e-commerce services provider Digital River has developed and introduced a new e-commerce solution, which will be able to capture in excess of 6,000 online orders per second on a global basis.

The newly launched solution is set to handle order demands associated with merchandising events, door buster discounts and preorder sales or releases of digital titles and physical products, including massively multiplayer online games (MMO) and collectible items.

Digital River’s Order Solution has been built on the backbone of the company’s Global Commerce enterprise system. In order to be able to regulate the online order process for on-demand software and game titles as well as consumer electronics products, online shoppers will be placed in a virtual checkout line. Once it received the orders, the system will process the purchase and payment. After the purchase is completed, a notification and a digital license key will be sent out to consumers.

In recent news, Digital River has renewed its e-commerce partnership with Panasonic, a provider of connected television entertainment to provide the latter support to expand its market across European countries.
