Fanplayr, CardSpring team up for digital coupons

Monday 18 June 2012 08:42 CET | News

Fanplayr, a multi-channel coupon platform, has teamed up with US-based payments infrastructure startup CardSpring.

By combining CardSpring’s API and the First Data OfferWise solution with Fanplayr’s Gamified “Smart and Targeted” digital coupons and offers platform, merchants will now be able to link Fanplayr’s coupons directly to a consumer’s payment card and redeem them at the time of purchase.

CardSpring is a new Application Programming Interface (API) for the payment network that allows developers to add new functions to credit and debit cards by programming the payment network to link online applications to payment events. The API enables developers to turn existing offline payment-linked services like paper coupons, loyalty cards or receipts into software. In addition, with CardSpring platform, online publishers and advertisers can create card-linked marketing programs. When a consumer redeems an offer at a retail store, the card-linked application connects the purchase back to the online promotion.
