Hypercom introduces IntelliNAC

Thursday 12 May 2011 09:26 CET | News

US-based payment technology company Hypercom has introduced a POS network access controller, dubbed IntelliNAC, to facilitate transactions for financial institutions, merchants and other entities whose businesses process large volumes of payment transactions.

IntelliNAC is set to authenticate transactions via Public Key Infrastructure standards required for PCI-DSS compliance. In addition to the network access interfaces, the IntelliNAC system uses Secure Socket Layer to encrypt and transmit transactions virtually. Other capabilities include hot-swappable components and dual AC or DC power supplies, dynamic multiprotocol dial access software, transaction routing and load balancing functions and protocol conversion. For IP networking users, IntelliNAC is able to directly connect to the internet and provides firewall function to protect a corporate LAN.

IntelliNAC’s standards-based design is able to facilitate migration from legacy systems to IP and the adoption of emerging technologies such as VoIP carrier systems in the future. Hypercom also intends to add mobile to cellular gateway support.
