Instagram expands ecommerce feature to Stories

Instagram has expanded its Shopping feature to Stories, which has over 300 million users. 

Customers will see a shopping icon when their browse Instagram Stories. By clicking on the icon, they will be redirected to an ecommerce website that sells the product. 

The move comes less than three months after the Instagram Shopping feature was initially launched in Australia, which Showpo’s chief marketing officer Mark Baartse sees as an intention to monetise the platform.
