JD and Yamato boost ecommerce deliveries

JD, a Chinese online retailer, partners with Yamato, a Japanese logistics firm, to speed up cross-border deliveries.

Yamato will allow goods shipped from Japan to clear through customs in four days after payment is made, shanghaidaily.com reports.

The company launched JD Worldwide in 2015 amid competition with Alibaba to cater to Chinese consumer`s craving for quality products sold in other countries, ranging from luxury clothes and accessories to baby formula milk powder and snacks. Japanese retailer Rakuten also set up an outlet on JD Worldwide.
