The Merchant Risk Council (MRC), the merchant-led trade association focused on  e-Commerce risk and payments globally, has appointed Kieran Macey, Head of Risk, UK and Europe at payment fraud prevention company ReD onto its European Board.

Nicolas Vedrenne, Managing Director of MRC Europe has stated that: ““Kieran is a great asset to the European Advisory Board. He speaks routinely with key merchants across all market sectors, providing them with solid consultation and guidance regarding their business models. Kieran’s background and enthusiasm are a welcome addition to the board.” The announcement has been made at the European Merchant Risk Council e-Commerce Payments & Risk conference, which takes place at Berlin, Germany, between 17 -19 October 2011.

Members of the MRC Global Board and its American and European Advisory Boards represent a broad cross-section of its members. In the US, ReD’s Regional Manager for North America, Kevin Sprake was appointed to a two year term on the Merchant Risk Council Main Board earlier in 2011.

The MRC allows merchant members to network with peers, receive education and to advance support on key industry advocacy topics. The association’s membership includes 900 major brands. Companies on the European board include Skype, Visa and The Carphone Warehouse.

ReD delivers its payment fraud prevention and payment processing services to international clients ranging from global telecommunications to retail, travel, petroleum, banking and the e-commerce sectors. The company has offices in the UK, US, China, Australia and South Africa.
