Naspers acquires 70% stake in markafoni

African media group Naspers has purchased 70 percent stake in markafoni, a Turkish private shopping online store, via its subsidiary MIH-Allegro, online media outlet eu.techcrunch.com reports.

The acquisition includes markafoni’s operations in Turkey and Ukraine in addition to Zizigo, the largest online shoe retailer in Turkey.

Naspers holds 34 percent share in Chinese internet company Tencent,  29 percent stake in Mail.ru Group, the internet company in Russian-speaking markets and 95 percent stake in Brazilian e-commerce group BuscaPé. Naspers also owns two European e-commerce businesses, namely Tradus and Allegro.
