The enhanced PayPal Buyer Protection policy will protect Asian Pacific shoppers if they receive a product which is different from the one described by a merchant. This extra layer of security strengthens PayPals current protection for shoppers across the region when they do not receive the product they purchased using PayPal.
The Buyer Protection policy protects buyers if they have bought eligible items under the following circumstances:• By purchasing items which are tangible like physical goods that can be shipped • By making a purchase anywhere that accepts PayPal as a payment method.• By making a payment via PayPal in one single amount for the full price of the item.
The company is also launching a new online shopping site for PayPal users across the region, dubbed PayPal Plaza. The site offers exclusive deals and free shipping from merchants.
PayPal Plaza features over 60 merchants from the Asia Pacific region, including Australia, mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. These merchants offer up to 50% discounts along with free shipping to any location in the region. The merchants are grouped into 15 categories, such as fashion, electronics, toys, books, jewellery, cosmetic, health products.
