PayPal, X.commerce introduce PayPal Access

Thursday 13 October 2011 13:27 CET | News

During the eBay’s Innovate Developer Conference 2011, PayPal and X.commerce, an open commerce ecosystem, have launched PayPal Access, a commerce identity system. This new commerce identity service enables customers to make online purchases worldwide without using multiple passwords.

PayPal Access enables consumers to sign in and sign up to participating websites using their PayPal username and passwords.

This identity service provides consumers and merchants with details needed to create an account or complete an online transaction, including user verification, shipping information and payment details. Some of the information, such as the shipping address, will be automatically updated and the financial details stored in customers’ PayPal accounts will be kept private.

Via X.commerce consumers and merchants will gain access to open commerce technology.
