Press, an e-commerce service provider of the RR Donnelley CustomPoint Solutions Group, and the John S. has entered an agreement with James L. Knight Foundation.

As a result of this partnership, almost 50 college publishers will be able to use an e-commerce platform to collect donations and subscription revenue.

The Knight Foundation will cover the set-up fees for up to the next 50 college publications to sign up on Press, enabling them to install a “meter” on their websites which will allow them to collect donations and / or subscription fees from readers who want to show their support.

Knight has previously collaborated with Press to help the foundation’s non-profit news grantees to launch metered platforms on their websites.

Press is a payment platform that enables digital news publishers to collect revenue from online readers. The Press metered approach is used by local, national, and international newspapers, magazines and online-only news websites.

RR Donnelley is a global provider of integrated communications. RR Donnelley’s Press enables websites and other digital products to generate subscriptions, memberships or donations.
