Q4 2010: Alibaba.com total revenue jumps by 37.6%

Chinese e-commerce company Alibabas total revenue has increased by 37.6 percent year-over-year, reaching USD 231.4 million (CNY 1.521 million) in Q4 2010, while the 2010 revenue was USD 845.6 million (CNY 5,557.6 million), up 43.4 percent from 2009.

Revenue from China marketplace has jumped by 33.9 percent to USD 288.1 million (CNY 1, 894 million) in 2010, compared to USD 215.2 million (CNY 1,415 million) in 2009.

The company’s revenue from its international marketplace has climbed to USD 492.7 million (CNY 3,238 million) in 2010, representing a 34.5 percent increase from USD 366.2 million (CNY 2,407 million) registered in 2009. In Q4 2010 the revenue from international marketplace has reached USD 134 million (CNY 881.1 million), up 28.2 percent in comparison with Q4 2009.

Alibaba.com net income has witnessed a 46 percent year-over-year growth, reaching USD 62.4 million (CNY410.4 million) in Q4 2010. The company’s full-year net income has climbed to USD 223.6 million (CNY1.469 million), up 45.1 percent year-over-year.

In Q4 2010 the deferred revenue has seen a 29 percent increase to USD 674.7 million (CNY 4.434 million), while in Q4 2009 the company recorded a deferred revenue amounting to USD 522.9 million (CNY 3,437 million).

The company has exceeded 1 million paying members on its marketplaces and HiChina in Q4 2010.

At the end of 2010, the company registered 809,362 paying members on both the international and China marketplaces, up 31.6 percent year-over-year, and up 7.8 percent compared to the previous quarter. Total registered users on the international and China marketplaces have jumped by almost 30 percent year-over-year to more than 61.8 million.
