Since its launch 18 months ago, Sapato.ru has recorded 2.5 million visitors per month. The terms of the sale were undisclosed and the transaction completed today.
In recent news, Ozon.ru has secured USD100 million in funding round from Japanese online retailer Rakutena and investment companies ru-Net, Index Ventures and Alpha Associates, online media outlet themoscowtimes.com reports. With the new influx of capital, Ozon.ru will build logistics centres and equipment. The company will also increase its inventory and expand its range of products.
Founded in 1998, Ozon sells books, movies, music and Software to customers in 56 different countries.
