The acquisition will allow Shopify to expand its mobile commerce initiatives. Via Shopify’s web-based platform users are able to create a store in moments, add items to sell, upload images, add tags and group items as well as integrate PayPal or other credit card processor for payments. Storefronts and shopping carts can be personalised and the platform offers security capabilities for all transactions.
The e-commerce platform has more than 20,000 active online stores in 80 different countries.
