The Southeast Asian online game market is expected to reach USD 1 billion by 2015, double the anticipated revenues in 2011 of USD 474 million, a recent study has unveiled.

According to the research conducted by Niko Partners, free-to-play games, which allow users to play for free and pay real money for virtual goods, are the most popular category.

The study has also revealed the fact that while Southeast Asian gamers prefer social games, most teenagers and over 20 year-old game players focus on hardcore games.
