Turkey: BKM rolls out digital wallet express platform

Financial institution Interbank Card Center of Turkey (BKM) has rolled out an express digital wallet platform for all cardholders to enable e-commerce purchases.

The newly introduced system does not require consumers to share card details when making an online purchase. The users identifying their debit, credit and prepaid cards into the express platform of BKM will be able shop without sharing any information on e-commerce websites. The process is completed via a single-use password from the mobile device without having to use card information.

In order to complete a transaction, the cardholder will have to log onto BKM’s website with its username and password and then identifies Turkish ID Number and some of the digits of the card he/she uses into express. Transactions are monitored through online POS system and they are secured through the single-use password via SMS.

BKM has revealed plans to include contactless and single-use password capabilities into the express platform.
