F-commerce has witnessed an 8.8 percent growth in 4 months due to an increasing number of retailers who import their website functionality into Facebook. Almost 12 percent of social media users have decided to purchase goods from a Facebook store after seeing the offers on the website, according to eCustomerServiceIndex (eCSI) results, recently released by online marketing research companies, eDigitalResearch and IMRG.

The study has also pointed out that 25 percent of online shoppers have increased the number of their visits on Facebook, logging onto the website more than once a day. In addition, 97 percent of online consumers have revealed plans to search and purchase Christmas gifts via Facebook. To that effect, 27 percent of consumers intend to access the internet using smartphones, while 9 percent will use their tablet devices to find and buy gifts.

The results have also revealed the fact that consumers’ buying behaviour is influenced by social media actions and other customers’ reviews. According to the research, 61 percent of the respondents have been negatively influenced by a bad review on a social networking website.
