US: Amazon to allegedly buy RadioShack storefronts?

Tuesday 10 February 2015 13:20 CET | News

Amazon is allegedly planning to buy a number of storefronts from RadioShack retailer to offer customers pick up locations for items bought online.

The storefronts in question are located in New York City with multiple others in California, evigo.com reports. In the new locations Amazon is said to sell products such as the Kindle tablet and Fire smartphone.

RadioShack has recently listed debt of USD 1.38 billion and the company has a plan to turn about half of its 4,000 stores into Sprint Corp. locations and shutter the rest under a deal with a liquidator, the source reports citing Bloomberg.
