Warner Brothers to offer movie rentals via Facebook

US entertainment company Warner Brothers has entered a partnership with social networking website Facebook to test a service that enables users to rent movies via the latter’s applications, according to the online media outlet myfoxal.com.

As part of the deal, fans will be able to gain access to movies for 48 hoursand pay 30 Facebook Credits (USD 3) for it. Facebook provides users with the ability to watch full-screen, pause, resume, fast-forward and rewind the film. Furthermore, if they leave Facebook, they can return within the 48-hour period and resume watching by clicking the watch tab on the film’s page.

Additionally, while watching the movie in smaller windows, users can use Facebook Chat, a Facebook Like button or a Twitter button to share news of their experience with friends.

In recent news, US online shopping cart technologies developer Payvment has rolled out a Shopping Mall on Facebook to enable merchants to offer over one million searchable products to nearly 600 million potential customers on Facebook.
